CAD Engineer

Munich
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

The role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you enter as a key member of the early team and a core architect of the physical body powering our humanoid - an industrial-grade machine built for the highest levels of reliability and performance. You will work directly with the founders and senior leadership to define the mechanical architecture of our robots. Whatever your background in industrial or humanoid robotics, you bring rock-solid mechanical engineering fundamentals to every joint, structure and interface you touch, and you take pride in getting the basics unquestionably right.

Your profile

Key responsibilities
  • Architectural Design: Turn ambitious, high-level concepts into production-ready CAD models, specializing in lightweight structures and high-performance actuation.
  • Load Path Design: Apply rigorous load-path alignment principles to structural design, ensuring every part carries load efficiently and predictably from point of application to ground.
  • DFM/DFA Excellence: Design every component for manufacturability and assembly from day one, working closely with the workshop and supply chain to eliminate late-stage redesigns.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with the AI, Controls and Software teams to optimize mass distribution and sensor placement for peak robotic performance.
  • Mentorship & Standards: Establish the organization's DFM/DFA standards and mentor junior engineers in high-level engineering practices.
Possible areas of specialization
  • Lightweight Structures: Focus on the lightweight structural design of our robots.*
  • Actuation: Collaborate closely with structure, system integration and external partners to optimize our actuator designs and their integration.
  • Simulation: Own the simulations within your scope to squeeze out maximum performance in the shortest possible time for each iteration.
Who we are looking for
We seek builders ready to move beyond demos to real-world deployment - professionals who value precision and reliability as much as innovation.
  • Experience: 5+ years in high-performance robotics, automotive or aerospace engineering. A proven track record of shipping complex hardware products is essential.
  • Core Skills: Expert-level CAD and FEA, combined with rock-solid, first-principles mechanical fundamentals. In detail:
  • CAD & FEA: Expert in CAD (ideally CATIA and Fusion 360) and advanced FEA packages (such as Simulia Abaqus) for structural, modal and thermal simulations.
  • Mechanical Fundamentals: First-principles command of bearing selection, screw/fastener calculation, strength assessment and load-path-aligned design.
  • Robotics Fundamentals: Working understanding of industrial and/or humanoid robotics systems - kinematics, actuation and the interplay between mechanics and control.
  • Product Design: Deep knowledge of the functional design of high-tech products (ideally robotics), including layout design, structural mechanics and active/passive thermal management.
  • DFM/DFA: Strong command of design for series production - manufacturing-driven design optimization, parts reduction, assembly-line-friendly tolerancing and COGS reduction.
  • Mindset: You balance the agility of a startup with the professional rigor required for a global industrial player. You understand that a robot in the real world will face forces and failures that don't exist in a simulation, and you design accordingly.

Why us?

  • The Team: Work alongside leadership with a proven track record of building unicorn-scale companies and defining global robotics standards.

  • Smart Strategy: We operate as disciplined fast followers. Capital is timed to the deployment inflection point, avoiding early-mover dead ends to scale fast on proven foundations.

  • Resources: We are substantially internally funded and attract top-tier investors to avoid any capital constraints for our mission.

  • Historic Opportunity: Join at the dawn of a new industry comparable to the rise of the automobile. Help shape the European champion in this trillion-dollar market.

About us

We are building a global leader in physical AI, anchored in Europe’s strongest robotics heritage. Founded by entrepreneurs with backgrounds in scaling digital products and advanced robotics, the team is bolstered by senior leadership from top-tier AI research labs and industrial tech companies.

Driven by a mission to create versatile and trustworthy embodied AI for physical labor, We fuse deep engineering mastery in AI and mechatronics with a rapid-execution culture. We are addressing the labor shortage by closing the gap to production-grade deployment. This means building the trusted alternative: robots that are safe, secure, and engineered to automotive standards of scale and durability.

Well-capitalized and operating in stealth, we are now assembling our team.

Our Locations: Vesoma has two main locations: Munich, Germany and Limassol, Cyprus. This pan-European setup represents our core ambition of building a European technology leader, gives us a great talent base and a strong corporate structure.

We are an equal opportunity employer.
